UPDATE: Disney’s Magical Express operator Mears has released their own statement in regards to this change, saying Disney “made us aware of their decision. While we are disappointed Disney will no longer offer this service, we intend to continue offering transportation services between the airport and all area theme parks and hotels to meet the demand of our visitors now and in the future.”
In addition to confirming that Extra Magic Hours have been discontinued at Walt Disney World, it was also announced today that Disney’s Magical Express service, which provides guests with transportation between Orlando International Airport and the Walt Disney World, will be ending on January 1, 2022.
In a statement, Disney confirmed that the service will continue to operate for all Disney hotel stays through the end of 2021, but added that “As consumer needs and preferences change, we will no longer offer Disney’s Magical Express service starting with arrivals in 2022”
As of right now, other complimentary transportation options on property (bus, monorail, Skyliner, etc.) at Walt Disney World will continue without changes.
Disney’s Magical Express already cut luggage delivery service for those arriving to and departing from Orlando International Airport and the Minnie Vans service has also been suspended indefinitely, which means guests will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the airport beginning next year.
