Disney announced earlier this month that it was completely cancelling Disneyland’s Annual Passholder program due to the resort’s continued closure and uncertainty about reopening conditions once the theme parks are able to reopen later this year. Though new membership options will be available in the future, Disney has not elaborated on what these could be or when to expect an announcement.
However, in the meantime Disney has announced that former Disneyland Annual Passholders who held active Passports as of March 14, 2020 are now Disneyland Resort Legacy Passholders and are entitled to special deals and discounts including the following:
- Extension of discounts on food and merchandise that were associated with the pass tier the passholder had on March 14, 2020
- Annual Passholders save 30% on select merchandise at select Downtown Disney District and Buena Vista Street locations Monday through Thursday, through February 25, 2021
Disney has promised that they will have “additional extras” to announce for Legacy Passholders in the near future, with no concrete timeframe given. This is certainly an unprecedented time for Disneyland fans, and hopefully we’ll learn not only what Disney has in store for these Legacy Passholders soon but also what kinds of future repeated admission options will be available in the years ahead.
