Though all of Walt Disney World’s flagship theme parks have been open since last July, the resort has yet to reopen its water parks. However, it was announced late last year that Blizzard Beach would be reopening on March 7, 2021, just in time for the park’s 25th anniversary. And if you are looking forward to visiting this park, as of today tickets are now once again on sale for this theme park here on Walt Disney World’s official website.
As you might expect, mask rules will be a lot different at this park, and Disney has updated their official guidelines with regard to the opening of this water park to state the following:
- Face coverings will be required in designated areas for each Guest age 2 and up, including but not limited to the park entrance and exit, retail areas, and food and beverage ordering areas
- Face coverings will not be permitted while experiencing water slides or in the water.
Like at Walt Disney World’s other theme parks, masks will not be required while actively eating or drinking, but guests should be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing when dining.
Right now Blizzard Beach is the only water park at the resort that is planned to reopen, as Typhoon Lagoon is still shuttered for the time being. However, as the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic hopefully begin to ease as vaccines are more widely rolled out and guests look forward to late spring and summer visits to Walt Disney World, we’d imagine the resort will be getting their other water park up and running as soon as possible.
