Free FastPass and FastPass+ are officially dead. Disney has announced that alongside their free Disney Genie planning service, which will debut this fall inside the existing Walt Disney World & Disneyland apps, a new Disney Genie+ service will also be made available that acts as a FastPass replacement.
At Walt Disney World, Disney Genie+ service will grant faster access to over 40 attractions via “Lightning Lanes” for $15 per guest, per day. This service can be booked in advance, but specific times will not be available before the day of your visit. Disney hotel guests can book Genie+ return times at 7:00 am on their park day and other guests can book once they enter the parks. At Disneyland Genie+ will include access to over 15 attractions for $20 per guest per day, and will also include PhotoPass as well.
In addition to the all-in-one service, guests can purchase Genie+ Lightning Lane access for individual popular attractions as well, but will be limited to purchasing two of these skip-the-line passes per day, and pricing for these individual options will depend on demand.
Attractions that use virtual queues like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (when it opens in October) will continue to have free virtual queues in addition to paid, individual access options. These will not be included in the standard Lightning Lane Genie+ service and will be available as a separate purchase only.
Genie+ can be purchased by Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on the day of the visit for $15 per day. No discounts are available. This service will officially debut later this year at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
