A brand new statue of Walt Disney has debuted at D23 Expo, with guests now able to get up close to it inside the newly opened Disney Parks and Experiences Wonderful World of Dreams Pavilion.
D23 Expo is set to yield some exciting announcements for the future of Disney parks over the next three days, and now it appears that some new details have already begun to emerge from the highly anticipated event!
The statue, which is now confirmed to have the official name “Walt the Dreamer” is present at the expo for visitors to see in person before it makes its way over to EPCOT. The statue will be situated in “Dreamer’s Point” and will be installed near the exit of Spaceship Earth. Created by Imagineers, the statue of Walt Disney will debut with the hope that, as Walt gazes out across EPCOT, it will inspire guests to follow their dreams and always envision a better tomorrow. Disney Parks Blog have shared an image of the statue which you can check out below.
Last year, Disney shared a behind-the-scenes video of the statue’s creation although this is the first time that it has been revealed to guests in person. The incredible statue has been masterfully crafted to offer a stunning life-like rendition of the Disney founder, however, as of right now it is not known when the statue will be moved over to EPCOT.
The ‘Partners’ statue in Magic Kingdom, which features Walt and Mickey holding hands and waving to guests, has since become an iconic centre piece of the park, so it will certainly be exciting to see how guests take to this stunning new EPCOT addition when it debuts in-park.
