April is officially Earth Month and Disney is continuing its pledge to take action to help save the planet with a new project.
Disney plans to add two new solar arrays in order to further reduce their carbon footprint and to help in reaching their goal of net-zero emissions by 2030. These two new solar arrays which will be located in Polk County and Gilchrist County on over 1000 acres will include nearly half a million solar panels and are planned to be online by early 2023.
Disney has released a video which shows how they will add these two new solar arrays which will double the available solar energy, meaning 40% of the energy supplied to Walt Disney World will come from the sun. The video is embedded below:
Disney launched Disney Planet Possible which is an initiative with actions to put into practice in order to provide a more sustainable future. The adding of these two new solar arrays will help towards that pledge.
