Disney Changes Virtual Line Procedures Again

Disney has been making several tweaks and modifications to its virtual line process in recent weeks, especially as it prepares for the rollout of Genie+ at Walt Disney World in just a few weeks.

However, over on the other coast, Disneyland has made a small but significant change to their virtual queue process for the new WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure attraction. In an interesting development, it looks like Disney has updated their website to state that, depending on demand, the virtual queue for this attraction may close at any point in the day, with the standby queue potentially opening for the rest of the day if this happens.

If this attraction switches to stand-by, guests with virtual queue reservations need not worry, as all same-day reservations will be honored. Guests can always check the Disneyland app for attraction status throughout the day to see if virtual or standby queues are being used.

This is definitely a very interesting change and could pave the way for hybrid standby/virtual queues to potentially come to Walt Disney World, especially as demand for the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction has not been as intense as that for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and an afternoon standby queue could be useful to ensure as many people as possible are able to experience this new attraction.
