There has been a lot of excitement in the last few weeks around the new Jurassic Park Coaster which is coming to Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Originally this project, which was announced back in January 2019, was expected to open in early 2021.
Whilst many construction projects sat untouched during the COVID-19 lockdown, work on the Jurassic Park coaster continued and has been ramping up in recent weeks giving us hope that an 2021 opening may still be on the cards.
Universal enjoys keeping us all in suspense as to the name of their new attractions. Unsurprisingly then, an official name hasn’t been announced for this exciting new ride yet. We do know, however, that they have trademarked the name “Velocicoaster” so we are guessing this will be it.
Back in August, a detailed video was posted online showing the fully installed track and the views of the amazing theming which has now begun to be added, including greenery and extensive rockwork.
New photos posted online of cars on the track
Any fan of Universal will surely be desperate to see any new developments on the Jurassic Park coaster and this week, Midway Mayhem posted on their Facebook page images of two cars placed on the track. Unfortunately they can’t be fully seen as they are covered by tarps which have cleverly got the InGen logo on them.
Universal are using these two cars to complete a safety pull through of the track which is very encouraging to see.
