Building Demolished At California’s Great America

We heard the sad news back in June that Cedar Fair had made the decision to sell the land on which California’s Great America currently sits. The sale which was made for approximately $310 million came with a lease agreement which enables Cedar Fair to be able to continue to operate California’s Great America for a maximum of 11 years, until 2033.

In September it was announced that there wouldn’t be a Haunt at California’s Great America in 2022 but the park was replacing this event with “Trick and Treats” Festival which has been taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sundays from September 23 through October 30.

Screamscape has reported that they have been sent photos from a reader visiting the “Trick and Treats” Festival which shows that the building which once sat next to the Grizzly coaster in the middle of a set of midway games has been demolished. This area has been blocked off with fencing. This building was formerly used as a Halloween Haunt maze location and as a result of the usual Haunt event being canceled, Cedar Fair have obviously made the decision that it is no longer needed and it has been demolished.

It makes us wonder what other buildings we will see demolished in the coming months as Calfornia’s Great America gets closer to its permanent closure.
