The Beast at Kings Island is getting a major refurbishment over the winter months in order to maintain itself as one of the best wooden rollercoasters in the world.
The refurbishment began on November 1, 2021 and is due to run until March 31, 2022. There are a number of upgrades that are being done including 2000 feet of track refurbishments and 1090 feet of retracking.
The Beast Helix crossover is getting new bents and installations and the first drop is going to be changed from 45 to 53 degrees due to reprofiling of the track in order to give riders a smoother experience.
The Beast opened at Kings Island in 1979 and broke all records making it the longest and fastest ride in the world. It still stands as one of the best wooden rollercoasters and these refurbishments should ensure it remains a fan favorite for many more years to come.
