Avengers Campus Now Open at Disney California Adventure

The first of several planned Marvel-themed (but not Marvel-named) Avengers lands has now opened at Disney California Adventure. This new land builds out the area next to Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT, and adds new restaurants, shops and the all-new WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure ride.

This new land is expected to be very popular, and Disney has said that they will be funneling guests through the main entrance to Avengers Campus past Carthay Circle and across from Golden Vine Winery. next to the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB). Then, when Avengers Campus reaches capacity, a standby queue to the right of this entrance to manage crowds.

In addition, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, will use a virtual queue system to manage crowds. Guests will be able to use the official Disneyland app to enter the virtual queue twice a day, at 7am and at noon. Although guests do not need to physically be in the park to snag a boarding pass for this attraction, guests will need to have park tickets linked to their Disney account and a theme park reservation for Disney California Adventure or Disneyland (and a park hopper ticket). Guests may only enter a virtual queue for this attraction once per day, and stand-by will not be available.

In addition to the Spider-Man ride the first phase of this new land will include meet and greets with iconic heroes both old and new, including Iron Man (sporting brand new Mark 80 armor), Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Captain America (both Steve Rogers’ and Sam Wilson’s versions), Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Thor and even villains like Loki.

There will also be several places to grab a bite to eat inside this new area including a Shawarma Palace food cart (a nod to the first Avengers film) as well as the Pym Test Kitchen, a new restaurant based around the world of Ant-Man and The Wasp where “Pym Particles” are used to grow and shrink just about anything, including salads, sandwiches, craft beers, cocktails, and other super-hero themed libations!

Though this land is still technically incomplete (no opening date has been revealed for the still-untitled E-Ticket Avengers Ride that will complete the land at some later date), it is definitely exciting to see this new land finally open up and begin welcoming guests! Will you be planning a visit to Avengers Campus soon?
