Warner Bros. Movie World is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It is known for its entertainment based on Warner Bros. films and characters, offering a variety of rides, shows, and attractions. The park is divided into themed areas, each representing different aspects of the movie industry and various film genres. They range from DC Superheroes and Villains to Looney Tunes. However, later in 2024, an iconic intellectual property will make its debut at WB Movie World.
Wizard of Oz is one of the most well-known and iconic IPs in the world. While you may have heard of the Oz-themed park in North Carolina, this new themed land is set to be something park-goers have never seen. The land will include memorable scenes from the classic movie including the Gale farm in Kansas, the haunted forest, the Wicked Witch’s Castle, and of course, The Emerald City.
Two Family-Friendly Wizard of Oz Coasters
Wizard of Oz will be opening sometime in 2024, and it arrives with two new family coasters. The first coaster will be Kansas Twister. This boomerang family coaster is similar to what we have seen with Good Gravy at Holiday World and Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers at Kings Island. However, Kansas Twister will be a racing family boomerang with two dueling tracks.
The spikes will reach nearly 75 feet high. Riders will race forward and backward while reaching speeds of about 35 miles per hour. The loading station appears to be located within the Gale family barn, and the ride vehicles resemble tractors. Fans can even spot a cow on the roof of the barn.
The second ride opening within the Wizard of Oz land is a suspended coaster called Flight of The Wicked Witch. This coaster will stand nearly 60 feet tall and reach a speed of about 40 miles per hour. Riders will load the coater inside the Wicked Witch’s castle. Both coasters within The Wizard of Oz land will feature lower height restrictions to allow younger children to ride.
A Multimillion-dollar Investment
This precinct, as Warner Bros. calls it, will focus on ensuring thrills for all ages. In addition to the two coasters, guests will also enjoy walking through the Wizard’s Chamber. It is here where they can come face to face with the Great and Powerful himself. The land will be set in two halves, the “real” world of Kansas and Oz. When guests enter the land, they will choose a path through Kansas to the Kansas Twister or follow the yellow brick road through Oz to Flight of the Wicked Witch.
The Warner Bros. Movie World precinct of The Wizard of Oz will surely delight guests of all ages. Additionally, the bright and colorful theming will be exciting for younger children, and older children and adults can enjoy mild thrills on one of the family roller coasters. The only unfortunate news is that it will take a flight to Australia to enjoy this wonderful new land.
