This is the weekly news, rumors and refurbishments update for Walt Disney World for the week of February 15, 2015.
Here are the two biggest updates from around the resort for the past seven days.
1. The final pieces of the Sorcerer Hat Icon are disappearing
The view down Hollywood Blvd at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is becoming picture perfect.
The base ring is now being dismantled.
I suspect the Great Movie Ride will become a more popular attraction as it is now the first thing you see when entering the park.
Soundstage One next to Toy Story Midway Mania is now walled-off. This is likely due to the expansion of Toy Story Midway Mania.
2. Construction continues at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Outfitters is expanding and the vehicle noise can be heard at times.
Walls disappeared in front of the Tree of Life.
Seating for Rivers of Light nighttime show coming to Animal Kingdom in March 2016 is taking shape. Walls still surround the entire lake.
Even in the parking lot, construction noise can be heard for the new Avatar themed land of Pandora. This is a very exciting time for the park, but I sure can’t wait until next year when projects begin to be completed.
