This is the weekly news, rumors and refurbishments update for Walt Disney World for the week of February 8, 2015.
Here are the three biggest updates from around the resort for the past seven days.
1. Part of the new Magic Kingdom Central Plaza opens later this month
With the new Central Plaza Gardens opening on February 27, 2015 we have a photo update to check up on construction progress.
A new planter is being added by the Tomorrowland Terrace bathrooms.
2. Magic Kingdom Central Plaza getting new planters
With the redesign and expansion of the Magic Kingdom Central Plaza, the center of the hub is getting new planters. The new planters will include the lighter brown concrete, new copper handrails, and new foliage.
The two planters on the south side were paved over to create more space as work continues on the north side planters.
3. Rails were added in front of the Mickey Floral
Although not permitted, children and sometimes adults would get on top of the ledge in front of the Main Street Railroad Station for a photo opportunity. This can be extremely dangerous and to prevent guests from injuring themselves, Disney added decorative railings on top of the ledge.
The railings blend in very well and is a smart move.
