UK newspaper The Sun is repeating last year’s offer of 2 free adult tickets to Alton Towers.
As with last year, the tickets must be used on a specific day and there is no guarantee of getting a ticket for a particular date. Instead, applicants must list 5 date bands in order of preference (which span most of the park’s season between March 25 and November 4). Tickets are then allocated on a first come, first served basis.
To qualify, readers need to collect 7 differently numbered tokens. One token will be printed in the newspaper every day between Saturday, February 27 and Thursday, March 11 (a total of 11 tokens). The Sun has been sending postcards with a bonus token to last year’s applicants, allowing them to apply earlier than the rest. All applications must be received by post by March 17.
The papers costs 30p on weekdays and 60p on Saturdays. The tickets cost £38 each on the gate, so the potential saving is large.
For those who miss out, or get tickets for a date that is not suitable, there are plenty of other ways of saving money on Alton Towers tickets (using Tesco Clubcard points, for instance).
Full details and conditions for the offer can be found on The Sun’s website.
