Rumor – Brightline To Still Serve Walt Disney World With New Proposed Station

We reported just last week that Disney had officially scrapped plans for a Brightline Station at Disney Springs. This appeared to be a knee jerk reaction from Disney due to the confirming by Brightline of a station at the Orange County Convention Center thanks to a federal grant which was secured in June.

The station at Orange County Convention Center is aimed to alleviate traffic and take guests from the Orlando International Airport to popular destinations along I-4.

Screamscape has now reported that “because the new alignment now being established as the “Sunshine Corridor” still plans to move ahead. The plan will expand the run from the Orlando Airport to the Convention Center and then on to a second station “near Disney Springs, although not on Disney property.” for the next phase before proceeds on towards Tampa. The location of this new station near Disney has not been revealed, but I’ve got a hunch it may involve a new large piece of property that the state took control of right next to Disney that is currently being cleared out. I’m talking about the Crossroads retail property right at the end of Disney’s Hotel Plaza Blvd entrance.”

This would essentially mean that the Brightline train service would still indeed serve Walt Disney World but the actual Brightline train station would not sit on Disney property but would be just outside. Guests could therefore still access Walt Disney World from the International Orlando Airport if they chose to without the need for them to have a car.

This rumor includes speculation but does seem like a sensible and plausible plan and one that would be positive for Disney fans.
