We reported on May 11 that Disney Puts Foot Down With TikTok Craze after a number of guests were deliberately going to Walt Disney World trying to get “dress coded”. This craze kicked off a few months ago when one TikTok user’s video went viral after telling how you could go to Walt Disney World inappropriately dressed and would then be given a free shirt to put on.
This then sparked a craze of other TikTok users trying to do the same thing leading to Disney having to become more vigilant where dress code is concerned and rather than any free shirt being given, the particular guest was asked to go and change before she could enter the theme park.
This week, one guest posted a video on TikTok saying that she had been stopped at the park entrance when scanning her magic band because of the top she was wearing and was asked if she had another shirt she could put on.

From this video, it seems that Disney is not allowing halter tops or any tops which tie at the back or front. We are assuming that this is because they now appear to be considered inappropriate attire under their dress code, “Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment.”
In the dress code section on the official Walt Disney World website it states clearly under the heading of Inappropriate Attire that:
“Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. Attire that is not appropriate for the parks—and which may result in refusal of admittance.”
This particular TikTok user said that she had worn the same top to Walt Disney World numerous times before. This perhaps shows that the TikTok craze of trying to get “dress coded” has actually meant that Disney has responded with a harsher crack down on certain attire which perhaps at one point would have been overlooked.
We are unsure if halter necks and tie tops are being essentially banned at Walt Disney World as they are now seen as inappropriate attire or whether it is down to the discretion of the individual cast member of security guard. What we do now know is that Disney certainly seems to mean business where dress code is concerned.
