Outside Walt Disney World, SeaWorld opens its new roller coaster, plus Cedar Fair responds to its takeover offer!
1. Price hikes come to multi-day tickets
Walt Disney World multi-day tickets over three days have increased in price this week, with base tickets, park hopper, and park hopper plus tickets all subject to price hikes of up to $30 in some cases. Because of the variability of multi-day pricing (and add-ons), prices will be different depending on the date, season, and add-ons you select. You can check current prices here.
2. New preview released for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
We’re only weeks away from the grand opening of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel and to get guests even more excited for this new experience Disney has released another peek inside this out-of-this-world experience, which you can see above!
3. New mask policy now in effect at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World has once again updated its mask policy, with fully vaccinated guests no longer required to wear masks when indoors with the exception of when they are on enclosed transportation. Vaccinated Cast Members are also no longer required to wear masks in indoor areas.
4. Figment popcorn buckets now available through mobile order
Though guests waited hours for Figment Popcorn Buckets during the opening days of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, Disney has made these popular souvenirs available through their online mobile order system so guests can skip the lines and pick up their souvenir from a designated area.
5. New, detailed Cast Compliment feature now available in My Disney Experience
A new My Disney Experience update allows guests to leave detailed Cast Compliments for Cast Members who go the extra mile. Guests can now leave information about the Cast Member’s name, hometown and date of interaction so that the Cast Member can get the kudos they deserve.
6. DVC Moonlight Magic events set to resume
DVC Moonlight Magic events will be returning to Walt Disney World for the first time since 2020 later this year. During these special after-hours events eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can visit a select theme park to experience attractions with low wait times, as well as special entertainment and character interactions. Here are this year’s event dates broken down by park:
- EPCOT: March 17 and March 31
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: May 24, June 16, and July 14.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: July 26, August 31, and September 28.

7. Cedar Fair rejects SeaWorld’s takeover bid
Several weeks ago SeaWorld made an offer to purchase the Cedar Fair family of parks, which include Cedar Park, Knotts Berry Farm, King’s Dominion and more. However, Cedar Fair has officially rejected the bid, which means SeaWorld will need to make the parks group a better offer if they are serious about aquiring them.
8. IceBreaker now officially open
After several weeks of annual passholder previews, IceBreaker at SeaWorld Orlando is now officially open at SeaWorld Orlando. This new roller coaster blasts guests through four different launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida — a 93-foot tall spike with 100-degree angle.
