Universal Orlando Team Members Will Now Face Weekly Tests And Continued Face Masks If NOT Fully Vaccinated By Feb 9

Due to a recently issued Emergency Temporary Standard through the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Universal Orlando Resort have updated their COVID-19 policies for Team Members.

It states that as of Jan 10, 2022:

  • Any Team Member who has not attested to their vaccination status, must immediately attest and provide proof of their vaccination if partially or fully vaccinated.
  • If you are unable to be fully vaccinated by February 9th, 2022, you will be required to follow a strict weekly COVID-19 testing cadence and continue to wear a face covering. The company will initially pay for the testing and will provide the testing onsite at select locations.

Universal Orlando Resort strongly encourages Team Members to be vaccinated and to receive the booster shots available. With reports that the majority of the 93% of Team Members who have attested to their vaccination status are fully vaccinated this new policy change shouldn’t affect a massive amount of people.

It states that for those that haven’t attested to their vaccination status or who have and are not fully vaccinated they will have to continue to wear a face mask while on property and will have to have weekly tests which Universal will pay for and will happen on site initially.

For guests to Universal Orlando Resort, it was announced in December that due to the sharp rise in COVID-19 cases that Universal were reinstating the measure for masks wearing indoors at Universal Orlando Resort. The latest safety update for guests taken from Universal Orlando website states:

  • Face coverings are required at all restaurants, shops, indoor hotel public areas and at all attractions from the moment guests enter the queue to when they exit the experience.

It also states that guests do not need to provide proof of vaccinations. You can keep up to date with the latest safety guidelines for guests at Universal Orlando resort here.
