Super Nintendo World Expanding With New Donkey Kong area

Universal Studios Japan has announced it will be expanding its blockbuster Super Nintendo World to include a new Donkey Kong-themed area. This upcoming expansion will feature a roller coaster, interactive experiences, and themed areas where you can take a walk on the wild side through the lush jungles where Donkey Kong and his friends live.

Construction on this new area will begin soon, and Universal Studios Japan has confirmed that they are expecting to debut this new area in 2024, which is an impressive goal considering Nintendo has confirmed that this addition will increase the size of Super Nintendo World by approximately 70 percent. As of right now, it is unknown if either the Super Nintendo World that will debut at Universal Studios Hollywood or as part of Universal’s Epic Universe in the future will include this expansion, but hopefully we’ll learn more about these projects soon

After several delays due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Super Nintendo World opened at Universal Studios Japan this past February, and has been thrilling guests not only with its rides, but with its interactive elements that allow guests to collect coins, solve puzzles, and defeat bad guys, thanks to special Power-Up Band accessories that have been developed specifically for use inside Super Nintendo Land.
