This week at Walt Disney World, the Hall of Presidents reopens, decorations for fall begin popping up, and fireworks return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the first time since March 2020!
Outside Walt Disney World, Halloween Horror Nights and Howl-O-Scream Orlando make announcements about new houses, plus SeaWorld gets ready to kick off its Craft Beer Festival!
1. Hall of Presidents reopens with Joe Biden
The Hall of Presidents officially reopened this week after being closed for several weeks while current President Joe Biden was added to the attraction. Guests who stop by the Hall of Presidents can now hear the presidential oath of office recorded at the White House by President Biden himself just for this show. In addition, eagle-eyed guests will notice that the table next to President Biden is adorned with a few special items, each with their own significance to the President including peach blossoms to represent his home state of Delaware and a pair of his signature aviators.
2. New information (including prices) released for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience which will encompass a 2-night experience is being billed as the most immersive Star Wars story ever created where guests can journey further into a Star Wars adventure than ever before with different paths and choices that will effect the direction their stay takes, all while learning the traditional art of wielding a lightsaber and going on missions inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. And now we know that this will be a very expensive experience, with sample prices released this week for this two-day experience. You can learn more about what to expect from this experience here.
3.Fall decor now decorating the Magic Kingdom
In preparation for the kickoff of the Disney After Hours Boo Bash later this month, guests have started noticing that fall decorations have started popping up at the Magic Kingdom to help usher in the new season.
4. Fireworks return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios
This week saw the return of fireworks to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with the Wonderful World of Animation nighttime spectacular returning after last being performed in March 2020.
5. Annual passes to go on sale in a few weeks
Disney has confirmed this week that it will begin selling new annual passes again in advance of the resort’s 50th anniversary kickoff on October 1, 2021. Of course, no pricing has been released just yet, but we’d guess that, given the high levels of guests that we’ve seen visit the resort this summer, that prices will at least see a small bump from years prior when annual passes go back on sale in the coming weeks.
6. Select guests can register to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure early
Walt Disney World has announced several important dates for advanced previews for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure:
- Club 33: September 3
- Disney Vacation Club: September 5, 17 and 20.
- Annual Passholder: September 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, 23, 24, 27, 28
This attraction is set to have its grand opening on Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1, 2021, Disney Park Pass reservations are not required for the previews but guests interested in attending will need to register in advance via the Walt Disney World event page here.
7. Halloween Horror Nights Frequent Fear Passes now on sale
After months of waiting, Halloween Horror Nights Orlando superfans finally got the news they were waiting for this morning, as multi-night tickets, including Rush of Fear, Frequent Fear, and Frequent Fear Plus passes are all now on sale on the Halloween Horror Nights website here.
In addition to the multi-night tickets going on sale, Universal also announced a new original house: HHN Icons: Captured. As you might imagine, this house will feature icons from the past 30 years of the event, in a “Hell of Fame” featuring The Caretaker, The Director, The Usher, The Storyteller, Jack the Clown, Chance and more.
8. SeaWorld kicks off Craft Brew Festival next week
SeaWorld Orlando is bringing back its Craft Brew Beer festival next week, where guests can sample an unbeatable mix of domestic and local Florida favorites, plus savor more than 20 food items expertly paired to match their preferred brew. And to top it all off, festive entertainment will keep the party going all day long. This special festival take place Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays, plus Labor Day, August 13 – September 12 only at SeaWorld
9. New Howl-O-Scream details revealed
SeaWorld Orlando announced new details this week for its first ever Howl-O-Scream, including a new haunted house—Captain’s Revenge, featuring an undead captain and an ill-fated crew.The Sea of Souls scare zone has also been announced
