Disney Parks Now Mandating Vaccinations for Cast Members

Disney informed Cast Members earlier this week that they are now requiring all salaried and non-union hourly employees in the U.S. to be fully vaccinated to continue working with the company. Employees have 60 days to get vaccinated if they are not yet, and all new hires will need to be fully vaccinated before they can begin working.

This applies to Cast Members working at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and it was confirmed that plans are coming together for requiring international Cast Members to get vaccinated in the future. Disney is the first major theme park operator to mandate vaccines for its workforce, with other companies continuing to recommend but not require vaccines.

This is the latest measure to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, with Disney re-mandating masks in its theme parks in the US in indoor spaces as of this week. Interestingly, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando are not mandating masks at this time.

What do you think about Disney requiring its workforce to be vaccinated?
