This week’s biggest news out of Walt Disney World was the return of fireworks next month to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. And while this is undoubtedly great news for the theme parks, many have wondered since this announcement if special event-based fireworks would be returning to the theme parks. And now it looks like we have an answer.
Disney has officially announced that on July 4 Disney will present the standard versions of Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT Forever at Epcot with neither show including any July 4 tags. Similarly, Disney has confirmed that while Happily Ever After will be performed on event days during Disney After Hours Boo Bash, there will not be any Halloween-themed fireworks as a part of this event.
Though this may be a little disappointing for those looking forward to specialty fireworks, it looks like Disney is concentrating their efforts on returning to daily firework shows right now. Nothing has been announced yet for the holiday season so perhaps we’ll see a return of specialty nighttime spectaculars in November.
