As we head into what is expected to be a VERY busy summer travel season, Walt Disney World is implementing a new policy regarding theme park pass reservations, which are still required for entry. Under the new policy, Walt Disney World will be automatically cancelling Park Pass reservations not connected to theme park tickets, which should help free up reservations for those with tickets.
Though a Park Pass must be initially reserved with a valid ticket, some guests have been able to change the dates on their tickets while still keeping Park Pass reservations, which created a “hold” on some dates. However, with the implementation of this new policy, guests will have 48 hours to ensure that valid park admission has been loaded to their My Disney Experience account for the date of their Parks Pass reservation. If they do not take action, their Park Pass Reservation will automatically be canceled.
Right now, demand for Walt Disney World theme park admission is VERY high, with one or more theme parks “sold out” for non-AP guests every day from now through mid-July. You can check out Walt Disney World’s current Parks Pass availability on their official site here.
Officially, guest capacity is still capped at 35% for Walt Disney World theme parks, but many are hoping with vaccination rates increasing and COVID-19 cases on a decline around the US, Disney may opt to raise this level in the near future.
