Universal has just confirmed that Jurassic World: VelociCoaster will open on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure. When it opens, this ride will be Florida’s fastest and tallest launch coaster, giving guests the chance to soar 155 feet in the air and catapult up to 70 mph alongside a ferocious Velociraptor pack.
VelociCoaster features 4,700 feet of track, and includes near-misses, a barrel roll right above the Islands of Adventure lagoon, high-speed launches – the fastest reaching 70 mph in 2.4 seconds – and the signature “Top Hat,” which propels riders 155 feet in the air and then immediately into an 80-degree drop – Universal’s steepest drop yet.You can check out the preview video for a sneak peek at some on-ride footage of this exciting new ride:
The original cast from the movies including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong will be their roles in the attraction as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu as guests experience an extreme adventure through Jurassic World’s newest “carnivore expansion which will bring them through the raptor paddock and beyond with the films’ Velociraptor pack: Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo.
Currently Universal Orlando Resort is operating at limited capacity still, but with vaccine rollouts ramping up across the country, perhaps by June 10th, more guests will be able to visit the park and experience this brand new attraction. Will you be checking out the VelociCoaster this summer?
