Variety is reporting that several new TV shows set at Disney Parks are in development, with acclaimed showrunner Ronald D. Moore will write and executive produce the series, which will bring the themed lands and characters of the Disney parks to life in another reality.
The first of these projects will be based on The Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.) which has been featured in several Disney Parks attractions across the globe. You can read an in-depth explainer about how the S.E.A. connects attractions like Soaring: Fantastic Flight, Mystic Manor, Miss Adventure Falls and more here.
Subsequent projects will create a Disney Parks based interconnected universe similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Moore overseeing the entire franchise. No information has been released yet about potential title, cast, release date, etc. As of right now, Disney has yet to confirm this series yet, but it seems likely that they will in the very near future.
Though there has been a lot of nonfictional content released about the Disney Parks on Disney+, this will be the first fictional Disney+ series to focus on the Disney Parks. Are you excited for this new series? Or will this turn out to be another Tomorrowland?
