Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure was supposed to open in July with WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure as one of the main attractions. Due to COVID-19 Disney California Adventure closed in March and unfortunately there aren’t any signs of an opening any time soon.
Work on WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure came to a complete halt at the start of lock down, just three months before the ride was due to open. As lock down progressed construction on Avengers Campus re-started and work has continued behind the scenes.
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure Ride is a 3D attraction which will give guests the chance to experience what it’s like to have web-slinging superpowers like Spider-Man. The plot of the ride revolves around the Spider-bots which have run amok during a test drive of the “Web Slinger” vehicle. It has been confirmed that the voice of Tom Holland will be heard in this attraction.
DLP Report tweeted a short video clip of the vehicles in the loading station. You can clearly see the large Web Slinger vehicles which are open-pods that swing and swivel as you complete your mission to help Spider-Man save the city from the Spider-Bots. Guests can sling animated webs by gesturing their arms which should be an amazing experience.

Disney has confirmed that work on this project is nearly complete and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure Ride and Avengers Campus will be set to open when Disney California Adventure finally gets the go ahead to reopen. We are hoping this will be during the first half of 2021 but will have to wait for an official announcement on this based on COVID-19 cases in the state.
