Earlier this week it was announced that Walt Disney World annual passholders will see the return of a generous merchandise discount beginning on September 15th, when they will begin receiving 30% off select merchandise purchases at Walt Disney World Resort owned-and-operated merchandise locations in both the theme parks and Disney Springs. And now it looks like Disney is extending the discounts to Florida Residents as well as anyone with a Florida ID can receive 20% off select merchandise at Walt Disney World.
Like the annual passholder discount, this discount is available from September 15 through October 29, 2020, but interestingly it is only valid Monday through Thursday and cannot be used at all on the weekends. Fortunately, this discount can be used inside Disney owned-and-operated locations at both the theme parks and at Disney Springs, so even if you aren’t planning a trip to the theme parks, guests who want to get a jump on their Christmas shopping can hop on over to the shopping district for a weekend trip to stock up!
In order to take advantage of this discount shoppers must mention offer and must present proof of Florida residency (valid Florida driver’s license, valid Florida state-issued ID card, or valid Florida-based military ID) at time of purchase to receive discount.
In addition to the Florida Resident discount, it was also announced Cast Members can receive 50% off select merchandise at Walt Disney World Resort owned and operated merchandise locations from September 15 through February 11, 2021.
Between all of these merchandise discounts and the plethora of previously announced ticket deals and hotel savings announced several weeks ago, it looks like Disney is pulling out all the stops when it comes to trying to entice guests to visit the resort this fall.
