It has been officially announced that the IAAPA Expo 2020 due to take place in Orlando, Florida in November has been cancelled. For many this won’t come as a particular surprise due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions associated with it.
IAAPA is an international trade association with members from more than 100 countries. It aims to connect and unify professionals in the attractions industry including theme parks, water parks, zoos, aquariums, museums, manufacturers and suppliers.
Massive plans go into organizing the IAAPA Expo each year, so this news is inevitably very disappointing for everyone who has been involved. However, it states in the press release that IAAPA Expo 2021 in Orlando is already being looked ahead to and they are moving forward with plans for hosting an Expo in Asia in June, 2021 as well as one in Europe in September, 2021.
It is not all bad news in 2020, as IAAPA announced that there will now be a Virtual Education Conference planned for the same week as the cancelled IAAPA Expo 2020 on November 16-18. Those choosing to take part can attend 25 virtual sessions as well as two keynote presentations featuring leading industry professionals.
