Though the BIG news out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios today is the grand opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, there are also some other important changes happening at this park that you might want to know about that are going in to effect today! From the cutting of attraction hours ALREADY at Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway to some additional options for early morning visitors to the park, here are all the changes happening now you’ll want to know about!
1. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will NOT operate during Extra Magic Hours
Disney confirmed this week that, along with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, brand new attraction Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will also not be operating during Extra Magic Hours. Currently, Disney’s Hollywood Studios only has evening Extra Magic Hours available, which have been historically scheduled for Sunday for two hours after regular park close. It is unclear if this change is being made due to expected maintenance times on this attraction, or if this is another cut due to budget constraints at this park.
2. New trivia mode available as part of Play Disney Parks app
Beginning today guests can test their knowledge of Disney’s most classic character with Mickey & Minnie’s Trivia Time – Mouse Rules Apply!, a new trivia game in the Play Disney Parks app that celebrates the openings of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction and “Vacation Fun” at Mickey Shorts Theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
This trivia game includes five trivia packs containing hundreds of questions spanning from Mickey and Minnie’s debut in “Steamboat Willie” to today. Some of these trivia packs will be available at home, while others can be unlocked after experiencing Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway or “Vacation Fun” at Mickey Shorts Theater to extend the cartoon fun even further.
3. Breakfast now available at ABC Commissary and Milk Stand
If you have been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at opening recently, you may have noticed that after guests scramble to get an early morning boarding group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, MASSIVE queues begin appearing at breakfast locations (most notably, Starbucks) creating even more congestion at the park. However, in an effort to abate this, the park has added breakfast at the ABC Commissary in the center of the park and the Milk Stand at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which will now be served from from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Here’s the menu by location:
