5 Dining Changes at Walt Disney World ALL Guests Should Be Aware Of (June 2019)

Though it may not initially seem like it, Walt Disney World has truly come into its own in recent years as a real food lover’s paradise. If you count yourself as one of the many who love eating their way around the Walt Disney World parks and resorts, there are some big changes taking effect right now you should know about.

For June’s dining update, a new discount is announced for annual passholders, a new combo is announced for a popular Disney’s Animal Kingdom location, plus a Disney’s Hollywood Studios dining location expands! 

1. Restaurantosaurus offers new ice cream and burgers meal deal with new topping bar

Popular Disney’s Animal Kingdom restaurant Restaurantosaurus has introduced a new Burgers and Sundaes combo for the summer that includes a choice of sandwich, side, and drink, as well as two scoops of ice cream they can then top at a special toppings bar.

For thier entree guests can choose between a gourmet burger, chicken sandwich, veggie burger or salad, and can also select either fries or onion rings for their side. 

This new dining option is only available during dinner on select nights. Each meal is $22.99 plus tax for adults and $14.99 plus tax for children ages 3-9.

2. Backlot Express losing props as dining room makes more space

The Backlot Express restaurant is one of the most popular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and in an effort to prepare for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge the park is working on adding more seats to the restaurant. And unfortunately, to make way for this seating expansion, select props are currently being removed from the interior dining area to maximize as much space as possible. 

3. Annual Passholders can save 20% on table service restaurants for lunch this month at select locations

Through the end of the month, Walt Disney World annual passholders can save 20% at the folling in-park restaurants: 

Magic Kingdom Park

  • Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen
  • Liberty Tree Tavern
  • The Crystal Palace
  • The Diamond Horseshoe
  • Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Epcot

  • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
  • Biergarten Restaurant
  • Coral Reef Restaurant
  • Rose & Crown Dining Room
  • The Garden Grill Restaurant

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • Hollywood & Vine
  • Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano
  • The Hollywood Brown Derby

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

4. New annual passholder and DVC tasting event to be offered this summer

The Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood restaurant at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be offering a series of special events for Annual Passholders and DVC Members this summer on Thursday, July 25; Thursday, August 1 and Thursday, August 8, 2019 which will allow attendees to sample highlights of the menu – specially selected by the chef – accompanied by signature cocktails.
 
The event is priced at $84 plus tax and gratuity per person. Passholders can call (407) WDW-DINE, and Disney Vacation Club Members can call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 to register for this event.

5. Mobile Order now available at select Disney hotels

Walt Disney World Resort has announced that it will expand the popular Mobile Order food service to additional restaurants at select Disney Resort hotels, including the following:
  1. Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  2. The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  3. Contempo Café at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
These restaurants will join the existing mobile order lineup of Centertown Market and Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and over 20 other quick-service locations throughout the four theme parks and Disney Springs area.
