Limited Time Incredibles Celebration Set to Begin at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Next Week

Though guests are waiting for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge later this year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’re nine months or more away from this massive event. In the meantime, Disney has announced a limited time event that will bring guests inside the world of The Incredibles beginning next week on January 18, when Disney’s Hollywood Studios will re-open the former Pixar Place area of the park, which has been magically transformed into a Municiberg city block straight out of the world of the Incredibles. And during this special event, here’s everything guests will be able to experience:

1.The Edna Mode Experience brings a fan favorite character to life

After appearing last summer at the Magic Kingdom, it looks like Incredibles fan favorite Edna Mode is heading over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and is bringing a pop-up gallery filled with original Super Suit designs, awards and accolades, sketches, and much more with her. And of course, after fans check out Edna’ Mode’s vast collection, they can meet the fashion icon herself, who will be posing for pictures and signing autographs as well in her own dedicated character meet and greet area.

2. The Super Shindig dance party character opportunity

Of course, it wouldn’t be a limited-time event at Walt Disney World without a dance party, and this Incredibles-themed event will be no different, with the Super Shindig Dance Party filling the void. As part of the event, the Incredibly Nice Community Chair, Bev, will be hosting this special dance party, which is being billed as “the most incredibly interactive party Municiberg’s ever seen”. During this regularly-scheduled dance party (check times guide for times), guests will be able to learn new dances, play great games, and have the chance to meet popular Incredibles characters like Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone.

3. Where’s Jack-Jack? interactive hunt gets social

An Incredibles celebration wouldn’t be complete without Jack-Jack, and true to form, the youngest member of the Incredibles family has gone missing during the festivities and guests will have to follow his trail around the street party, looking for evidence and clues related to his many powers, as shown in the Incredibles 2 film. Guests who take on this mission can find plenty of interactive surprises looking for Jack-Jack and share their experiences using a special hashtag, connecting with others who have found Jack-Jack at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

4. Special food and souvenirs will be available

And of course there will be special merchandise as well as food & beverage offerings available during this celebration of all things Incredibles. A special Municiberg Gifts popup shop will be available for guests wanting to buy Incredible merchandise including apparel, novelty hats and toys. And guests checking out the festivities can also visit the Neighborhood Bakery, which will have Incredibles-themed treats and snacks including the Num Num Cookie, Hero Sandwich, and Mrs. Incredible’s Mask with Cheese.

Right now, this event is scheduled to kick off in just one week on January 18th, and will run indefinitely. However, An Incredibles Celebration is being specifically billed as a limited-time event, and we can’t imagine this character experience sticking around past the summer, as Disney will likely need to re-purpose the former Pixar Place area of the park once again this fall to get ready for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (we’re guessing there will be some traffic flow issues, and this area of the park may end up being a holding area).

However, by the time the opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is announced, we should know more about the opening dates for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway as well as the new Cars show coming to the Sunset Showcase theater, so this temporary experience won’t be as needed at this park as more permanent attractions open, and hopefully guests who are really into The Incredibles will have had their chance to experience this limited-time event by then.

Will you be stopping by Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the next few months to check out this limited-time character event? Or are you waiting to visit the park until Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is open?
