Guests don’t always think of outstanding seafood when they begin to fantasize about their Disney World meals, but you can actually find several delicious options on property. Many of these fine dining locations fill up fast, though we’ve included a few counter service picks as well so you can satisfy your craving even without the prep work. Next time you’re in the mood for something succulent from the sea, try one of these mouthwatering meals.
1. Steamed Clams at the Cape May Café, Beach Club Resort
Seafood lovers are in good hands at the Cape May Café. The dinner buffet bears the moniker “Seafood-and-More” so you’re sure to find something to satisfy your craving here. The steamed clams are one of the most popular items on the menu, and give credence to the restaurant’s entire clambake theme. While some of the other menu items rotate throughout the week, this is a staple you can rely on.
2. Citrus and Exotic Pepper-Crusted Yellowfin Tuna Filet at Flying Fish Café, Disney’s BoardWalk
The Flying Fish Café regularly gets stellar ratings for its seafood. As the name suggests, this is one of the best restaurants on property for a delicious bite fresh from the sea. Some of the highest reviews at the restaurant go to the citrus and exotic pepper-crusted yellowfin tuna filet. The dish is worth mentioning because it takes an otherwise ordinary fish and gives it a stunning gourmet spin. It’s served with an eggplant caponata siciliana fresh from Epcot’s Land Pavilion and a Lake Meadow Naturals poached egg.
3. Seared Mahi Mahi at Coral Reef Restaurant, Epcot
The Coral Reef Restaurant at Epcot is an outrageously popular pick, so you’ll have to make your reservations well ahead of time to snag a table here. The atmosphere is one of the biggest draws, with views into the giant aquarium of the Seas Pavilion. You don’t have to get seafood here, despite the location. However, if this is what you’re after, the seared mahi mahi is a flavorful pick. Served with Laughing Bird shrimp, hearts of palm, and a coconut-lime sauce, there’s plenty of tang to this dish. Jasmine rice is the perfect compliment.
4. Cedar Plank-Roasted King Salmon at Artist Point, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Salmon is a fairly common pick at Disney’s fine dining locations, but the dish here gets rave ratings, well above similar choices elsewhere on property. Perhaps it’s the atmosphere that lends so perfectly to this choice. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge takes you away to a rustic lodge designed after some of the most popular National Park lodges in the United States. You’ll feel as though you might be able to head just outside and catch the salmon yourself in one of the rushing streams. This dish comes with a sweet potato mash and autumn vegetables.
5. Two-Pound Steamed Maine Lobster at Narcoossee’s, Disney’s Grand Floridian
If you’re ready to really indulge, look no further than the two-pound steamed Maine lobster at Narcoossee’s. Housed in the Grand Floridian, it’s immediately apparent that you’re in for an unforgettable meal at this location. The lobster is accompanied by a fallen corn soufflé with malted popcorn sauce and broccolini.
6. Spanish Seafood Pilaf at California Grill, Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary is another popular pick for the atmosphere alone. Situated atop the hotel, this restaurant offers views of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon. If you’re in the mood for seafood, try the Spanish seafood pilaf. This dish features cold water lobster tail, gulf shrimp, and clams. You’ll get a little taste of it all for those days when you just can’t settle on one delicacy.
7. Lobster Roll at BoardWalk Bakery, Disney’s BoardWalk
If you’re looking for a quick fix that won’t put a dent in your wallet (as some of these picks certainly will), the lobster roll at the BoardWalk Bakery is an excellent pick. One of the best things about this location is that it’s so easily overlooked. The bakery is a popular spot for sweet treats, but many guests don’t realize that you’ll find some great seafood on the menu as well. Dine outside beside the water and enjoy an unbeatable atmosphere for your meal.
8. Fish and Chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop, Epcot
Though not exactly fine dining, the fish and chips are excellent at this counter service option in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Served on a sheet of faux newspaper, there’s something satisfyingly authentic about this quick bite. Enjoy the crispy coating, piping hot fish, and tangy malt vinegar as you stroll the streets of the U.K., or take your meal to the back of the pavilion and munch while you watch the British Revolution play.
When seafood is your cuisine of choice, you’ll find plenty of options to suit your appetite at Walt Disney World. If you’re after fine dining, make your reservations early to make sure you get a seat at these stunning restaurants.
