7 Endangered Disney Attractions You Should See Before They Disappear FOREVER (September 2019)

Theme park attractions come and go all the time, and even though we’d like all our favorite rides and shows to stick around forever, the sad fact is that we have to say goodbye to at least a few every year.

Though we already said goodbye to several Epcot attractions, including character meet and greets, Club Cool, and the Fountain of Nations, there are even more closures happening over the next few weeks at Walt Disney World, with many of these happening at the end of this month!

1. IllumiNations

Location: Epcot

Status: Closing permanently September 30th

Though we’re excited for the future of Epcot., September 30th will be a bittersweet day as the iconic IllumiNations nighttime spectacular will officially close on this date after a two decade run at this park. Directly after the end of this show, the brand new limited time Epcot Forever will debut on October 1st, 2019

2. The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History

Location: Magic Kingdom

Status: Closing permanently September 30th

The Muppets Present…Great Moments in History has been a fixture of Liberty Square since it debuted back in 2016, and has been a fan favorite for guests, who line up every day across from the Hall of Presidents at the Heritage House building to see these beloved characters act out some of the most iconic moments in American history. However, it looks like guests only have until the end of the month to see this fun show, as Disney’s official times guide does not list performances beyond September 30. Sadly, this show is not expected to return.

3. Super Shindig Dance Party

Location: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Status: Closing permanently September 30th

The Super Shindig Dance Party, which has been a part of the Incredibles Celebration event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and allowed guests to learn new dances, play great games, and have the chance to meet popular Incredibles characters like Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone, will also be coming to a close on September 30th.

4. Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration Meet and Greet

Location: Magic Kingdom

Status: Closing permanently September 30th

Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration at Magic Kingdom, will officially come to an end on September 30, which means guests only have a few more weeks to experience the Mickey and Minnie suprprise celebration meet and gteet inside Town Square Theater. After this date, this space will go back to being a Mickey-only meet and greet, and Minnie Mouse will return to Fantasyland’s Toontown Fair.

5. Limited Time friends meet and greet

Location: Magic Kingdom

Status: Closing permanently September 30th

Surprise characters have been meeting guests at the flagpole on Main Street USA this year also as part of Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration, including Nick and Judy from Zootopia,  Remy and Emile from Ratatouille, and Robin Hood and Friar Tuck from Robin Hood. However, as this celebration draws to a close, this special limited-time offering will be coming to a close as well.

6. The Royal Majesty Makers

Location: Magic Kingdom

Status: Closing permanently September 30th

Another Magic Kingdom entertainment offering, the Royal Majesty Makers (which is a troop of characters that roam around Fantasyland including retired knight Sir Sterling, his niece Bridget, squire Tobias and Lady Llewellyn), will be ending their appearances at the Magic Kingdom also in the next few weeks. These original characters are also not expected to return.

7. Burudika

Location: Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Status: Closing permanently October 13

It’s hard to think of the Harambe Village area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom without immediately thinking about the sounds of the iconic Burudika Band that performs every afternoon in this area. However, it looks like it may just be the end of the road for this musical group, as reports seem to indicate that Disney has not renewed their contract with these musicians, which means their last day at the park will be October 13, 2019 with their final show happening at 6:30pm on this date.
