The 5 Walt Disney World Attractions We Lost Forever in 2019

Though 2019 saw the opening of a new land with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge debuting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this year saw more quite a few closures as well, including a long-running Epcot nighttime spectacular and a fan favorite entertainment offering. Here’s everything we said goodbye to so far this year, and one attraction that is still yet to close for good

1. Innoventions East

Though Innoventions has been closing in phases over the past few years, this Epcot mainstay finally closed for good on September 8th. By this time, all that was left was just the Colortopia exhibit, but the end of Innventions really marked the end of an era at Epcot.

2. IllumiNations

September 30th was a bittersweet day for Epcot fans as the iconic IllumiNations nighttime spectacular officially closed on this date after a two decade run at this park. Directly after the end of this show, the brand new limited time Epcot Forever opened on October 1st, 2019, and will be succeeded in 2020 by HarmoniUS

3. The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History

The Muppets Present…Great Moments in History has been a fixture of Liberty Square since it debuted back in 2016, and has been a fan favorite for guests, who line up every day across from the Hall of Presidents at the Heritage House building to see these beloved characters act out some of the most iconic moments in American history. However, Disney closed this show over the fall, and while it was granted a temporary stay of execution, it doesn’t seem likely that this show will be back after the holidays.

4. The Royal Majesty Makers

Another Magic Kingdom entertainment offering, the Royal Majesty Makers (which is a troop of characters that roam around Fantasyland including retired knight Sir Sterling, his niece Bridget, squire Tobias and Lady Llewellyn), ended their appearances at the Magic Kingdom in fall 2019 after delighting guests for several years.

5. Burudika

It’s hard to think of the Harambe Village area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom without immediately thinking about the sounds of the iconic Burudika Band that used to perform every afternoon in this area. However, Disney did not renew their contract with this long-running musical act, which meant that their last day at the park was October 13, 2019.
