Disney’s Hollywood Studios features several well-known table service restaurants with rich theming and great meals. However, you don’t always have time to indulge in the full production of a meal at the 50s Prime Time Café, or Sci-Fi Dine-In. When you want to grab something fast that goes above and beyond your standard burger or grilled chicken sandwich, these meals are some of the most original and satisfying in the park.
1. Gourmet Hot Dogs at Fairfax Fare
This treat is easily overlooked because Fairfax Fare is set along the streets of Sunset Boulevard. At first glance it looks like just another turkey leg stand, and you may easily breeze past in search of something that looks like a more traditional restaurant. However, Fairfax Fare has everything you need to build a satisfying lunch, and there’s ample shaded outdoor seating behind. The gourmet hot dogs include Macaroni & Cheese and Truffle Oil and Barbecued Pork and Coleslaw.
2. New York Strip Steak at the ABC Commissary
You read that right. You can get a New York Strip Steak counter service at the ABC Commissary at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The steak comes with a blue cheese butter, steamed broccoli, and French fries. This surprisingly elegant option gives you the chance to feel like you’re enjoying a fine meal with the family without the hassle of making dining reservations and waiting to be seated. The portions are decent (particularly compared to the 50s Prime Time Café which has notably small portions for a much higher price) and the service is typically fast. 3. Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich at the Studio Catering Co.
If you’re in the mood for a chicken sandwich but you just want something a little different, this spicy buffalo chicken is an excellent option. The sandwich offers plenty of buffalo flavor with a moderate heat factor. The Tuscan roll is a particularly nice addition. If the sandwich is a bit spicy for you, try dipping a corner in ranch for a refreshing twist.
4. Toasted Tuscan Deli Sandwich at the Studio Catering Co.
This is a great sandwich if you’re looking for delicious deli flavor. This sandwich features shaved smoked ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, Caesar dressing, and pesto-marinated tomatoes on a Tuscan roll. The blend of flavors and variety of toppings makes this a stand-out sandwich and the bread is soft and delicious, pulling together a prime pick.
5. Deli Sandwiches at Starring Rolls Café
The Starring Rolls Café is tucked next to the Hollywood Brown Derby and known better for its pastries and breakfast picks than for its lunch. However, the fresh deli sandwiches here come on thick slices of bread. With plenty of turkey or ham packed into each wedge, this is one of the most filling sandwiches you can pick in the park. It comes with your choice of chips or fresh fruit, which is a refreshing change from fries.
If you need a fast meal but you don’t want to overspend on another ordinary burger, these picks will fill you up and satisfy your taste buds at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
