The 5 Best Meals Money Can Buy at Walt Disney World: Buffets

Walt Disney World offers a wide selection of buffets for diners who want to make the most of every dollar. From character dinners to quieter meals, there’s a buffet dining experience to suit nearly any visitor. While many of these are on the pricier end of the spectrum, they can be worth it for the unforgettable experience, extensive array of dishes, and unlimited opportunity to try it all. Here are some of the best picks on property.

    1. Boma, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Boma is a unique buffet that offers a rich taste of Africa. Located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, this restaurant also offers a chance to see the free-roaming savannah animals that the resort is best known for.

The menu here includes everything from a rich Zanzibar Crab Soup to a Whole Durban-style Roasted Chicken. Ideal for adventurous diners, the buffet includes such items as Fufu, Bobotie, and Pap and Chakalaka. Like most Disney restaurants, Boma is family friendly. However, the atmosphere is a bit dimmer and quieter than other hot spots, making it a great pick for an adult evening as well.

    2. Biergarten, Epcot, World Showcase

    Biergarten

Set back in Germany, Biergarten is easily overlooked. As a full buffet, this is a great pick if you want to get a lot of food for your money in Epcot. Anyone who can enjoy a good German sausage or pretzel roll will love this restaurant. The menu includes bratwurst, roasted pork, meatballs, pork schnitzel, sauerbraten, spatzle, sauerkraut, and roasted potatoes.

Though this isn’t a character dining experience, it’s not without entertainment. The restaurant is set against the backdrop of a picturesque Bavarian village. Live music and polka provide ample excitement throughout the meal.

    3. Cape May Buffet, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club

Though characters are only on hand for breakfast, it’s dinner you really want to check out at Cape May Buffet. The atmosphere transports you to a New England beach town, and the meal features a traditional clambake menu. You’ll find peel-n-eat shrimp, steamed mussels, steamed clams, herb-marinated salmon, corn on the cob, red potatoes, and more.

One unique feature of this buffet is the rotating array of options. If you’re in the mood for something in particular, you should note that batter-fried shrimp is served Sunday and Wednesday, fried clam strips are serves Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, and batter-fried calamari is on the menu Tuesday and Friday.

    4. Trail’s End, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

    Trail's End

Trail’s End offers both breakfast and dinner as a buffet, but breakfast is really where it’s at. The buffet includes the restaurant’s famous breakfast pizza as well as hash, biscuits and gravy, cheese grits, and eggs benedict with pulled pork. Naturally, you’ll find some Disney classics here as well, including Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, cereal, and yogurt.

Located at the Settlement at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, it’s a bit of a trek to get here. However, you can hop a boat right to the Magic Kingdom or other Magic Kingdom resorts if you’re staying in the area.

    5. Tusker House, Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Tusker House offers a character meal for both breakfast and lunch, however we prefer the lunch buffet. This is another excellent option for some unusual dishes that depart from the norm. Try Kenyan Coffee BBQ Park Loin, Pari-Pari Marinated Baked Salmon, Toasted Couscous Salad, and Saffron-infused Root Vegetables and Cabbage. Sweet plantains are an original option your kids may be game to try thanks to their close resemblance to bananas. The buffet also includes a wide array of breads and desserts so you’re sure to leave satisfied.

As you dine, Mickey and the gang rotate among the tables so you’ll get a chance for a picture with all the big characters. If you’re not an early riser and don’t want to fight the dinner crowds for popular character dining options, this is a great midday alternative.

Enjoy all-you-can-eat ambiance and make the most of every dining dollar at these mouthwatering Walt Disney World buffets.
