Though Walt Disney World theme parks have just started reopening, Disney Springs has been welcoming guests for over a month, with some well-established safety routines and procedures in place. And now that guests have gotten comfortable returning to this location, some interesting changes have been happening in the past few weeks. From the reopening of a long-closed restaurant to some new information about a brand new sweet spot coming soon, here’s everything you need to know that’s happening right now at Disney Springs!
1. Rainforest Cafe reopens
Though Disney Springs has been open for several weeks now, Landrys-owned Rainforest Cafe did not reopen with the shopping and entertainment district, prompting many to wonder if it would stay closed forever, due to its parent company’s financial woes. However, as of this weekend, Rainforest Cafe at Disney Springs is back open and welcoming guests with a limited menu and brand new health and safety procedures. Guests who want to stop by this newly-reopened location can make reservations online or stop by between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
2. Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew to take over POP Gallery on Disney Springs West Side
A new eatery named Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew was announced last month and we have learned some new information about this location, which we now know will open in the Pop Gallery location on the West Side at Disney Springs. The location makes sense as this new establishment will be owned by the same parent company as Splitsville, which is located right next door. Unfortunately it looks like the Pop Gallery will close on July 30 to make way for this new location.
3. Splitsville has reopened for dining, bowling and more
And speaking of Splitsville, it looks like this popular Disney Springs location has also reopened this weekend for dining, bowling, pool, and more. Of course, there are new health and safety measures in place, which include plexiglass dividers in dining areas, every other bowling lane closed, select pool tables closed, and contactless menu options, but it looks like for those who can’t get enough of this popular Disney Springs destination, you are once again able to stop by and take in all that this location has to offer!
4. Uniqlo reopens after unexplained closing
Last month UNIQLO closed for unspecified reasons at Disney Springs, with many speculating that the department store chain was closing due to rising COVID-19 numbers in the region (much like Apple closed down its stores). However, it looks like as of this weekend UNIQLO at Disney Springs has officially reopened. No reason was given for the shutdown, but according to their official website they will be operating for the foreseeable future
As always, while this situation is evolving, all travelers should check out the CDC’s official site here, which has information on the virus and how to prevent its spread.
