The biggest news out of Disney Springs this month has undoubtedly been the end of valet parking at the dining and shopping district, which some have taken to be a signal that Disney is planning its own premium parking upcharge.
While nothing has been confirmed on that front just yet, there are a number of other changes happening this month at Disney Springs, including the opening of a new discount store at the Marketplace Co-Op, the closure of an accessory shop, plus the return of a limited time dining event that will bring deep discounts to some of Disney Springs’ most popular eateries!
1. New Frozen-themed discount pop-up now open in the Marketplace Co-Op
The back room of the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs was recently refurbished and now been transformed into Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post. Though the name would seemingly indicate a Frozen-themed shop, this location is actually a discounted merchandise store, where guests can find deals on t-shirts, collectibles, toys, homegoods, and other parks-related merchandise for up to 50% off normal prices. Currently this location has a bunch of 50th anniversary items for sale so if you missed the official celebration, you can still get some of the limited release items Disney created for it at a substantial discount!
2. Rustic Cuff accessory store closes permanently
Disney Springs specialty accessory shop Rustic Cuff in Disney Springs closed permanently this week after just two years in operation. The store, which sold statement cuffs and charm bracelets, was located across from Frontera Cocina in the former Kipling location. Before it had a full storefront it was a kiosk at Disney Springs, so perhaps this brand will be reincarnated again somewhere else around Disney Springs!
3. Magical Dining kicks off, bringing discount dining to select locations at Disney Springs
Magical Dining kicked off this week in Orlando, bringing limited time deals to restaurants all around the city in an effort to raise money for local charities. This year, Disney Springs has several venues participating in this limited time deal, including Jaleo, STK Orlando and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. Each of these locations will offer a three course meal for either $40 or $60 per person, with specific menu items on offer. To see what’s on offer (and make reservations) you can visit the official Magical Dining website here.
4. Fall discounts now available for Disney Springs hotels
Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels are offering a new discount, just in time for fall that includes up to 20% off of hotel stays at B Resort & Spa, DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando, Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando, Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, Holiday Inn Orlando Disney Springs, or Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista.
These special rates are available to book now through November 30 for stays September 5 through December 21. Like other on-property hotels, the Disney Springs resorts offer early park access and complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks, and are often much more affordable than their Disney-owned counterparts. Visit the Disney Springs Hotels official site here for more information on this deal and links for booking.
