4 Disney Price Hikes To Watch Out for Right Now

Though we haven’t had the “big” ticket and annual pass price hike at Walt Disney World yet (though we’re guessing one or both of those will be coming in the next few weeks), Disney has been quietly raising prices on other things around the resort including dining plans, dessert parties, and even the iconic Minnie Mouse ears! If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World in the near future, here are some of the price hikes you’ll encounter.

1. Disney Dining Plan

Though Disney recently offered free dining as part of an early 2020 promotion, if you missed out on this deal, here’s how much you’ll pay for the Disney Dining Plan in 2020:

Quick-service dining plan: Includes 2 meals (one entree and one drink) plus 2 snacks, and 1 refillable mug

  • Adult $55.00 (Up from $52.50)
  • Child $26.00 (Up from $23.78)

Standard Dining Plan: Includes one table-service meal (which includes a dessert but not appetizer), one quick-service meal, two snacks, and a refillable mug.

  • Adult $78.01 (Up from $75.49)
  • Child $30.51 (Up from $27.98)

Deluxe Dining Plan: includes 3 table-service or quick-service meals (which include dessert and an appetizer, for the former) as well as  2 snacks and 1 refillable mug

  • Adult $119.00 (Up from $116.25)
  • Child $47.50 (Up from $43.50)

2. Minnie Mouse ears

Though it isn’t a massive price hike, late last year Disney quietly raised the price on standard Minnie Ears (not limited release or special edition) from $27.99 to $29.99. So if you’re looking to get the next trendy color of Minnie Mouse ear headband, expect to see a higher total at the register!

3. Nightly dessert parties

Guests wanting to secure themselves a spot at Walt Disney World’s various nightly spectaculars have often used the park’s dessert parties to not only enjoy reserved viewing areas but also enjoy treats at the same time. And though prices have already increased for the Frozen Ever After dessert party at Epcot as well as the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular as of a few weeks ago, the following dessert parties are getting a price increase in the next few days:

Magic Kingdom’s Fireworks Dessert Party Admission will be going up January 31 from $84 for adults and $50 for children to $99 for adults and $59 for children. For Plaza Garden viewing, the current pricing of $69 for adults and $41 for children will go up to $79 for adults, and $47 for children.

Rivers of Light: We Are One Dessert Party: Admission to this experience is going up on February 1 from $79 per adult (ages 10 and up) and  $47 per child to $89 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $53 per child (ages 3 to 9).

Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage at Seven Seas Lagoon: Starting February 1 the cost of this experience will go up to $76.44 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $45.66 per child (ages 3 to 9) to $83.83 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $49.87 per child (ages 3 to 9).

4 H2O Glow Nights

Though it is still January, Disney has been busy setting its summer upcharge event schedule, and tickets are now on sale for H2O Glow Nights tickets for the early bird rate of $65 (gate admission will be $75), and annual passholders/DVC members can purchase tickets for $59. Unfortunately, these are all up from last year’s $55 introductory price.
