This week was a big one for Walt Disney World as the park brought nighttime spectaculars back to two theme parks: the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. And though the Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After is essentially the same as it was pre-pandemic, there have been some changes made to EPCOT Forever since the last time this show was performed.
Because of the barges currently sitting in World Showcase Lagoon, the flying kites that were originally a part of EPCOT Forever have been completely cut, as there is no room in the lagoon for the jet-skis needed to pull the giant kites to maneuver. In addition, some of the laser effects in the original version of this show have also been cut.
However, in order to make up for these cuts, Disney has added additional pyrotechnics to the show to fill in the empty space, helping this new version of this show feel just as exciting as its predecessor.
Of course, this show is only sticking around temporarily, as the brand new Harmonious nighttime spectacular will be debuting October 1, 2021 as part of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. You can learn more about this upcoming new show here.
