This is the weekly news, rumors and refurbishments update for Walt Disney World for the week of April 19, 2015.
Here are the three biggest updates from around the resort for the past seven days.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean will not be closing until June
Originally set to close for refurbishment on May 11, Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom Park will now close on June 8, 2015. The refurbishment is scheduled to last until September 26, 2015.
2. This is Innoventions West final week at Epcot
Another closure is about to hit Epcot. Innoventions West including the exhibits THINK by IBM, Where’s the fire? by Liberty Mutual Insurance, and The Great Piggy Bank Adventure by T. Rowe Price will close on April 30, 2015.
Good news is that the Chase Meet and Greet will continue. Chase Disney Visa card holders will still be able to meet Mickey and friends at Innoventions West after April 29. Stay tuned for details into what may be replacing these experiences.
3. Dockside Margaritas opens at Downtown Disney Marketplace
Dockside Margaritas is a waterfront margarita bar themed as a Florida fruit stand from the 19060s. There’s also live entertainment performed from 2:30pm – 10:30pm Sunday to Thursdays and 12:30pm – 10:30pm Friday and Saturday.
Margaritas and cocktails include:
- Patrón Añejo Margarita – Patrón Barrel Select Añejo Tequila, Grand Marnier, Sweet-and-Sour and fresh Lime Juice
- Habanero Lime Margarita – Patrón Silver Tequila, Habanero Lime, fresh Lime Juice and Florida Sugar Cane Simple Syrup
- Sunset Margarita – Casamigos Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, fresh Lime Juice, Sweet-and-Sour and Orange Juice
- Orange Grove Rum Runner – Siesta Key Spiced Rum, Blackberry Brandy, Crème de Banana, and Florida Citrus Juices with a float of Gosling’s 151 Rum
- Sugar Cane Mojito – Siesta Key Silver Rum, Florida Sugar Cane Simple Syrup, fresh Lime Juice and Mint
- Strawberry Margarita – Herradura Reposado Tequila and fresh Lime Juice blended with Strawberry Purée
- Florida Citrus Freeze – Florida Cane ‘Orlando Orange’ Vodka and Peach Schnapps blended with Orange Purée
